US Routs Puerto Rico 8-0 To Win World Baseball ClassicThe United States routed Puerto Rico 8-0 to win its first World Baseball Classic Wednesday night. After six hitless innings from Marcus Stroman, the right-hander from the Toronto Blue Jays was named tournament MVP. After the win, the Americans planted their eagle statue mascot on the mound in celebration. “It’s a different feeling when the USA is on your chest,” first baseman Eric Hosmer said. “We wanted to get the U.S. back on top of the baseball world, and we did that.” The Americans had struggled since the WBC began in 2006. Twice losing in the second round and in the semifinals in 2009. U.S. manager Jim Leyland told the crowd, “This is for the men and women who serve our country.” The U.S. pounded out 13 hits and finished with a 6-2 record in front of 51,565 fans at Dodger Stadium.

Rowling described butterbeer as tasting “a little bit like less sickly butterscotch.” So the Pennsylvania ice cream maker says the new frozen treat variety combines buttercream and butterscotch ice cream. Yuengling’s says “the result is magical decadence that will transport you to another place and time.” President David Yuengling says the company hopes it made Rowling proud with the flavor.
Detroit Ranked As The Unhappiest Place To LiveAccording to a report from, Detroit is dead last on the 2017 list of Happiest Places to Live. WalletHub’s team drew upon findings of positive-psychology to determine which among 150 of the largest U.S. cities is home to the happiest people. The Motor city’s total score was 27.8 and ranked 150th in “Emotional and Physical Well-Being, Income and Employment." In Community and Environment Rank, Detroit came in 149th out of the 150 cities. The study says Fremont, California ranks as the happiest city. Not only did Fremont come in first, but California cities took the top four spots.
