Police Honored Two Teens For Caring For A Pit-BullPolice in Leicester, MA honored two teens for saving a pit-bull who was found abandoned and locked in a cage along the woods. Sam Rice 13 and 14-year-old Brady Thebeau saw the dog as they were riding their bikes. The dog was covered in feces, had numerous bug bites and seemed to be underfed. They then took him home and gave him a bath. Police are still searching for the dog’s owner, who could face animal cruelty charges.
Seal Pup Saved By Lobstermen In MaineTwo lobstermen are being praised after saving a seal from a deadly fishing net. The fishing partners were sailing off the coast of Maine when they spotted the pup caught in the huge knot. "Happened to notice the seal's face sticking out of the net and I said 'Jeff get the gaff' and we cam over beside it and Jeff reached down and managed to get it in." Jeremy Willey carefully cut the scared seal pup out of the net. After making sure the baby wasn't hurt, they returned it to the sea. "We threw a couple fish over and were like 'well here's a snack for the swim back to Matinicus Rock' and that was it. We were like 'well that was cool,' put the phone away and went back to work." After the video was posted to Facebook, the partners quickly became a viral sensation. Their rescue have been viewed over three million times already. Since passing laws against harming wildlife, the seal population around Maine has grown to nearly 50,000.
