6-Year-Old Collects Books For Schools Hit By Hurricane HarveyA 6-year-old in New Hampshire is doing what she can to help other children in Texas affected by Hurricane Harvey.First grader Brooklyn Murray is collecting books to send to schools in the flood-ravaged area. We thought that it would be a good idea to collect books because they lost, like, their houses, their money. I think because she’s 6 and in the first grade where she’s learning to read, books are important to her. I think that was a way for her to relate. Brooklyn's mom and school have helped her collect nearly 1,000 books to send to a Houston elementary school. Kids need books. Books are a way to bring back a little normalcy to their lives. They'll be happy. The family is hoping to have enough books to also help schools in Florida affected by Hurricane Irma.
