Dallas Police: 1 Dead, 1 Arrested In Fiery CrashPolice officials say they arrested a driver after a fiery hit-and-run crash in Dallas that left one person dead Monday night. Dallas police said the driver of a Toyota Prius was heading north on West Mockingbird Lane when the driver of a Dodge Challenger crashed into the Prius at about 10:20 p.m. The driver of the Challenger fled the scene, but was taken into custody after the vehicle was disabled on Irving Boulevard.
US Appeals Court Revisits Texas Voter ID LawA federal appeals court is preparing to take a second look at a Texas voter ID law. Texas’ law requires residents to show one of seven forms of approved identification. The state and other supporters of the law say it prevents fraud. Opponents, including the U.S. Justice Department, say it discriminates by requiring forms of ID that are more difficult to obtain for low-income, African-American, and Latino voters.
