6:45AM: Even though kickoff will not happen for 12 hours, Alabama fans are out early preparing their tailgating tent just after the sun rises.

Fans wait in line for breakfast at the popular restaurant, Rama Jama’s, which is half restaurant and half shrine to the glory of Alabama football. For many fans, Rama Jama’s is the first stop on gameday for good southern food and the opportunity to revel in the tradition of Alabama football.

7:00AM Though students may have a reputation for partying hard on weekends, there is no shortage of them to pack the grounds outside ESPN’s College Gameday show. Students were reported to be camping out in tents in order to secure the closest spots.

In Tuscaloosa, tailgating tents were erected as early as Thursday in preparation for Saturday’s events. The tents blanket the Quad early in the morning before most fans arrive.

The Shake A Leg tailgaters, along with many other Alabama fans, enjoy creating elaborate tailgating sites with props to taunt LSU fans. This one in particular is, in fact, interactive.

The art of grilling--and it is an art--is one of the most important elements of gameday. It is impossible not to be seduced by the smell of barbecue sizzling from a thousand grills on a Saturday afternoon. One Alabama fan proudly displays a variety of cuisine, including alligator, pork, and corn.

Though competition on the field may be brutal, Alabama and LSU fans will celebrate the day together. It is uncommon to see a tent in Tuscaloosa that does not contain at least one adopted LSU fan.

Students began lining up for seats outside Bryant-Denny Stadium as early as 11:00AM for the 7:00PM kickoff. By the time 3:30 rolled around, hoards of students were anxious to get seats at the bottom of the bowl.

There is nothing quite like spending a November Saturday night in Tuscaloosa. 30 minutes before kickoff, the stadium is packed, the crowd is loud, and both teams are ready to kickoff for the game of the century.
